The Southern Ute Drum offers extensive coverage of some of the prominent ceremonies in the area. The Powwow circuit will take us as far north as Denver, Colorado for the Denver March, and then south again for the Gathering of Nations Powwow in New Mexico. Regional Powwows include Hozoni Days and Ignacio’s own Tribal Fair. Keep an eye on the SOUTHERN UTE DRUM NEWSPAPER for more coverage in the weeks to come. This photograph of a young dancer in full regalia was taken recently at the Sweetheart Powwow here in Ignacio, Colorado.
