Traditions Ride On.

Recent Photographic coverage for the Southern Ute Drum took me north, over the mountains, to celebrate the Ute Indian Summer Celebrations in Montrose, Colorado. This two day event is also known as Chipeta Days, honoring Chief Ouray’s wife.

Back in the heart of Ignacio, I found myself covering the annual motorcycle rally, now coined as Ignacio Bike Week. Biker Bull Riding, Traditional Native American Dance and a Veteran’s Bike Parade set the pace for a rambunctious weekend on the Southern Ute Indian Reservation!
